Getting Started

  • Are my order form and tracking code important?

    Your order form includes a unique tracking code required to redeem your free book. Without it, you cannot claim the free book included with your kit.

  • Is there anything I need to purchase before starting my book?

    Your kit has everything you need to create a book. There are a few extra items you may want to include when you send your pages back for publication, including a picture of the author for the “About the Author” book feature.

  • Where can I buy a Book-Making Kit?

    The Crayola book-making kits are available at a variety of retailers online including Amazon, Toys'R'US and more.

  • How many Crayola book-making kits can I buy?

    Each customer may buy no more than 20 kits total in an order, whether it is the same kit or a combination of different kits. A bundle is considered two kits.

Creating My Book

  • Can I use art materials other than the markers provided?

    Yes, you may use any markers and/or colored pencils you choose; however, we request you not use crayons, glue, or glitter since these materials cannot be accurately reproduced in our printing process. Tip: When using markers or colored pencils, use bright colors. Light colors and light lines may be lost when printing your book.

  • Can I use pencil to write my story?

    If you choose to use pencil the lines must be dark or traced over in pen. Light lines may be lost when printing your book.

  • Is there a minimum or maximum word count?

    There is no minimum or maximum word count. We just recommend not writing past the lines on the page. This will ensure your child’s text is maintained in its entirety throughout the printing process.

  • I lost some of my book materials, what should I do?

    Please let us know which blank page(s) you need. We will send you a PDF file of the blank page that you can print from home.

  • My pages are soiled. Will this print in my book?

    Yes, if you color outside of the designated areas in the template or spill something on the pages, they will be reproduced in the printed book. We recommend you recreate the page rather than use the soiled page.

  • I am submitting a photo for the “About the Author” section. Will I get it back?

    We cannot return photos, so be sure you are not sending in the only copy you have. We also recommend scanning your child’s artwork at home before mailing your envelope as a safety precaution.

  • I cannot find my envelope. Where do I send the materials?

    Mail all of your materials (including the order form) in a properly sized envelope to:

  • I cannot find my order form. What should I do?

    The order form includes the confirmation number used to claim your free printed book. Unfortunately, without your order form, we cannot process your order.

  • Can you ship to addresses outside of the United States?

    At this time we do not print or ship outside of the United States.

  • Can you ship to military base addresses?

    Yes, we are able to ship to military addresses!

  • How long does it take to receive my book?

    You should receive your book about three weeks after we receive the materials. Typesetting books may add a few days to the process. Important: Printing and delivery times may take longer during peak ordering times such as the end of the school year and holidays.

  • How will my book be shipped?

    Your book will be shipped via Fedex SmartPost. Fedex will deliver your book to the mail sorting center closest to your shipping address. From there the US Postal Service will complete the delivery. You can track your order from the Fedex site.

  • How do I find my order status?

    Email us at customerservice@lulujr.com or call 1.844.639.3309. For a faster response, please include your order number in the email.

  • Can I make changes to an order I have already submitted?

    It depends on where your order is in the production process. Email customerservice@lulujr.com or call 1.844.639.3309 to see if your order can be changed. Please note there may be an additional fee to change orders that have been submitted for printing.

  • I have an issue with the order I received. What should I do?

    Email us at customerservice@lulujr.com. Include a detailed description of the problem along with your order number. If possible, take a picture of the defect and attach it to the email.

  • Who owns the copyright to my book after it is completed?

    You do. We occasionally use author's books as examples of what the book making kits produce, but you always retain the rights to your book.

Making a Return

  • Do You Have a Return Policy?

    Lulu Jr. takes pride in the quality of the products that we sell, and offering great customer service is our top priority. Our goal is your complete satisfaction with your purchase. If you are not completely delighted with your purchase, please follow the guidelines on how to make a return, and we will be happy to assist you in the return of your purchase. Crayola book-making kits may be returned within 30 days of purchase. Refunds will be issued to the original form of payment.

  • How Do I Make a Return?

    Please contact Customer Service at 1-844-639-3309 or customerservice@lulujr.com in order to obtain a return authorization number. This step is essential. Return the kit unopened in order to receive a refund of your purchase. Please note that a 2-kit bundle needs to be returned with both unopened kits for a full refund. Pack the item carefully in the original packaging and write your Return Authorization number on the outside of the box or on a piece of paper that is placed inside the box. Your return should be shipped via a traceable service such as USPS with tracking, UPS or FedEx. Return shipping costs will not be credited to your account. Once we receive your package, we will process the return within 14 business days. Please note that, depending on the form of payment tendered, it may take 2-10 business days from the start of the returns process for it to be applied to your account.

  • Are There Any Exceptions to Your Return Policy?

    We cannot accept kits that have been opened or that are returned after 30 days from the date of your purchase.
